YOUR YOGA PRACTICE TIPS
- The digestive system should be empty. Before breakfast or at least 2-4 hours after a light meal. Plenty of water and a small healthy meal should follow your practice session.
- Practice regularly, whether daily or several times a week
to achieve muscle memory and a biological rhythm.
- Do not wear clothing that will restrict your breath or movement.
- You will be barefoot.
- Discuss any injuries or illnesses with your instructor prior to the start of any class. Speak up regarding any pain during class.
- During menstruation a Restorative routine should be adopted for your usual practice. Mention this to your instructor and your class will immediately be adjusted to alleviate the usual menstrual symptoms.
- Do not hold your breath. You will be given instruction to inhale & exhale and your instructor will adjust the pace of the class to your breath.
- Do not force your body into any posture. This is a dangerous habit that private instruction will alleviate; no need to compete, you are the head of the class!
